Nothing says “new year, new you” like a new beauty routine. Something that never goes out of style is how you take care of your skin and we want you to start this year with beautiful skin that will last you years.  Whether you have your beauty routine down to a science or are looking at getting into a routine we got you covered in this article.

Block that sun like you block your haters

Nothing says beautiful skin like keeping it safe from the sun. It doesn’t matter if you like full coverage or minimal coverage, we all need to protect our skin from the sun. Luckily, there are many brands who understand this struggle and put SPF in their products. Here are two of our favorite products:

Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer has been a staple in my beauty routine for years. While this isn’t a full coverage foundation, it is a buildable tinted moisturizer that covers up the flaws in your skin while enhancing your natural beauty. On top of being oil-free (where all my oily skin girls at?), it also has SPF 20!

Supergoop is one of my all-time favorite sunscreens in the world. Unlike most sunscreens, Supergoop does a great job of not feeling overly sticky or smell like kids at summer camp. Instead Supergoops PLAY 100% Mineral Broad Lotion feels like a light moisturizer while also being SPF 50. Not only do we recommend this product, but really anything from the Supergoop line.

Not all masks hide your identity

While some of us love our superheroes in masks, some of the best masks embrace your identity. Yep, I am talking about facemask! My favorite thing about facemasks is the fact that you can find the perfect one catered to your needs and skin at the moment. As someone who religiously uses face masks in my weekly skin routine, I could not recommend them enough for everyone. Here is just a list of some of my favorites:

One of the major reasons people start wearing face masks regularly is due to a breakout in their skin. And there is no better breakout calming face mask than Origins Out of Trouble mask. As their website states, this mask is for “When skin is too-slick or more pressing problems start to pop up, Origins is here to keep skin Out Of Trouble. Super-absorbent Zinc Oxide and Sulfur plus calming Camphor rapidly soak up oily-shine, slough off dead cells and sweep away debris. Together they steer skin clear of slippery situations, refine rough texture and pull the plug on troublemakers to help prevent potential outbursts.”

My favorite part about this mask is the way it smells. The camphor has an almost minty, clean smell that I feel even helps me calm down from that ugly bump in the center of my face.

I need to preface this one by saying yes, I know it is very expensive. However, there is a clear reason for that. The T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial mask is not really a mask but much needed facial for your skin. By exfoliating the surface of your skin and removing all the dead skin sells your face will feel and look like a bright wide-eyed baby (hence the name). It will also last you forever, but if the price scares you a bit, there is a “Midi Size” one that is only $28. (currently out of stock but I would keep an eye on it)

Finally, some of my all-time favorite masks are under $5 and can be found at Ulta, CVS, and Target. The Feeling Beauty face masks have something for everyone. Some of my favorites include Cucumber & Pink Salt, Dead Sea Minerals Facial Anti Stress, and Mint and Lemon. For the price point, you can’t help but grab multiples and see which one works best for you.

While I am sure I could go on and on about skincare, I will save more tips for our next article. What are some of your favorite skincare routines? What are you most looking forward to accomplishing in 2020?
